Bacilos

Bacilos are a trio of Latin pop performers formed in Miami, Florida, in 1997 featuring singer and guitarist Jorge Villamizar, bassist André Lopes and drummer José Javier Freire. Their eponymous debut release was nominated for two Latin Grammy Awards and their 2003 follow-up, 'Caraluna' had six nominations; winning Best Pop Album By a Duo or Group With Vocals and Best Tropical Song for 'Mi Primer Millón'. The album also won the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album and went to number 49 on Billboard's Top Latin Albums Chart. Their 2002 single 'Caraluna' reached number eleven on Billboard's Latin Pop Airplay Chart and number 16 on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs Chart. 'Mi Primer Millón' (2003) went to number 18 on the Hot Latin Songs Chart, 'Pasos De Gigante' number eight and 'Contigo Se Va' number 42. Their third album, 'Sin Vergüenza', was nominated for a Grammy Award as Best Latin Pop Album and won a Latin Grammy Award for Best Pop Album By a Duo or Group With Vocals. They released an album titled 'Grandes Éxitos' in 2006 and embarked on a farewell tour, breaking up in February 2007. In 2017, they reformed for an album titled '¿Donde Nos Quedamos?' and in 2019 released 'Carta a cupido' with Alejandro González. Their schedule was to include appearances at venues in Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts and across Texas.
