Benny Sings

Born Tim van Berkestijn in Dordrecht, the Netherlands, Dutch pop musician, songwriter, and producer Benny Sings kicked off his career in 2003 with debut album Champagne People, which put him on the map at home and in various countries across Europe. He teamed up with Rednose Distrikt for the 2007 follow-up EUH and released third LP Benny... At Home that same year before he started to gain traction further afield in the US with the release of his 2011 album Art. Studio followed in 2015 and two years later he landed a significant collaboration with Rex Orange County on the single "Loving Is Easy." The single marked a turning point in his career and he signed to the legendary hip-hop label Stones Throw for his next record Beat Tape in 2018. He has since collaborated with an impressive raft of artists, including Mayer Hawthorne, Free Nationals, GoldLink, Mac DeMarco and Tom Misch as well as composing music for anime TV series Carole & Tuesday, and notching up three more albums. He cracked the Billboard top 10 in 2022, co-producing Rex Orange County's album Who Cares?, which debuted at number 5 on the Billboard 200, and in 2023 dropped new album Young Hearts, also on Stones Throw Records, which yielded the single "Pyjamas" featuring Remi Wolf.
