Casey James

American blues singer, guitarist and songwriter Casey James started playing the guitar aged 13, forming his first band in 2002 with his brother and some friends. It was not until 2010 that he came to public attention as a finalist in the ninth season of 'American Idol'. Following the show he signed for Sony Music Nashville and with them released his debut single 'Let's Don't Call It a Night'. His self-titled debut album, for which he co-wrote most of the tracks, was released in 2012, quickly reaching number two in the US Country Albums Chart. The second single from the album 'Crying On a Suitcase' was released in 2012, reaching number 24 in the US Country Singles Chart and number 14 in the US Country Airplay Chart. In 2014 he released 'Fall Apart' as the lead single for his second album for Sony, but the album never materialised and he parted company with the label. He launched a public appeal to assist in funding the independent release of his second album, which enabled him to release 'Strip It Down' in 2017. 'Strip It Down' was intended to mark the return to the music he loves to perform without the pressure of conforming to what was expected of him during and after performing in 'American Idol'.
