Cass Elliot

Ellen Naomi Cohen, who went by the name Cass Elliott and also was known as Mama Cass, achieved legendary status as a member of the folk rock group The Mamas and the Papas, who had major international hits in the late 1960s and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. The band broke up in 1968 and she released her first solo album 'Dream a Little Dream' followed by 'Bubblegum, Lemonade, and Something for Mama' (1969), 'Make Your Own Kind of Music' (1969), 'Mama's Big Ones' (1970), 'Dave Mason & Cass Elliot' (1971), 'Cass Elliot' (1972), 'The Road Is No Place for a Lady' (1972) and 'Don't Call Me Mama Anymore' (1973). She acted in films and on television and performed in England where she died of reported heart failure aged 32 in 1974.
