Chord Overstreet

Chord Paul Overstreet (born on February 17, 1989) is an American actor and singer-songwriter who rose to fame after playing the role of Sam Evans on Fox’s Glee for five consecutive seasons. The son of country musician Paul Overstreet, the singer was encouraged to play music from a very early age, mastering multiple instruments such as the mandolin, drums, piano and guitar. Following a successful five-year stint playing the character of Sam Evans on Glee, Overstreet decided to quit the TV series to focus on his music career. “Homeland,” his debut single, was released in 2016 to great critical acclaim, and an accompanying video was premiered by Billboard in October of that same year. In 2017, he came back with “Hold On,” a thought-provoking single about the suicide of one of his best friends that went viral on streaming platforms and earned him his first platinum certification by the RIAA. That same year, he released the EP Tree House Tapes, a collection of intimate acoustic pop songs influenced by folk and Americana that came out via Safehouse Records. After peaking at Number 42 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists list, Overstreet came back with “What You Need,” a stripped-down ballad about a toxic relationship co-written with Maggie Rose and The Gifted.
