French singer Dominique A rose to fame during the 1990s, merging his country's chanson tradition with the global influence of pop, rock, and alternative music. Born in Provins, France, on October 6, 1968, he scored his first hit with "Le Courage des Oiseaux" (from 1992's La Fossette) and hit a commercial peak with "Le Twenty-Two Bar" (from 1995's La Mémoire Neuve). Dominique A continued releasing explorative albums during the following two decades, with albums like 2006's L'Horizon and 2015's Éléor showcasing his ever-evolving style. In 2016, he was decorated with the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in commemoration of his contributions to French culture, before releasing albums Toute Latitude and La Fragilité (2018), then Vie Étrange (2020).
