Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow is an Oscar-winning American actress born in Santa Monica, California in 1972. She has starred in numerous films and during the course of her career has been involved in productions which have grossed almost nine billion dollars worldwide. In 2009 she was offered the role of Kelly Canter in a production called 'Country Strong' (2010). Paltrow's role was of an unstable, alcoholic country singer struggling to rebuild her career. The film eventually grossed $20 million making a small profit but despite the less than favourable reception many country music fans and critics were impressed with Paltrow's faultless singing and guitar playing. The title song of the film was nominated for numerous industry accolades, including a Golden Globe Award. It won an Academy of Country Music Award in 2010 and the ensuing interest in Paltrow's talents as a singer led to her performing a song during her debut performance in the popular Fox TV series 'Glee'.
