Haliene

Born Kelly Melissa Sweet on 29 March 1988 in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, the electropop and dance-pop singer known as Haliene (stylised HALIENE) has carved a name for herself in the EDM universe as a reputable vocalist, forging collaborations with top-tier EDM and trance artists including Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, and many more. Far removed from the neon-lit world of electronic music, HALIENE was in fact raised on a diet of jazz standards that were part of her pianist father's repertoire, and she was encouraged to learn music as a child largely thanks to him. Her first public performance came when she was just four years old at the Cape Cod Conservatory. After her parents divorced three years later, she moved to Utah with her mother. She spent her childhood and adolescence honing her voice and searching for opportunities before her first big break came at the age of 14 when she was booked by the Los Angeles Lakers to sing the national anthem on the strength of a demo CD. A few years later, and she was opening for Paul Simon on tour in July and October 2006. She issued her first EP under her real name, Kelly Sweet, in 2006, with her first two albums also released as Kelly Sweet: We Are One (2007) and Ashes of My Paradise (2012). In 2013, the Sirens EP was also released. The first stage of her transformation into an in-demand dance vocalist happened in 2014 when her cover of Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight" caught fire. Next up was a collaboration with US DJ Seven Lions and HALIENE was born in 2015. This collaborative track provided a springboard for future collaborative projects with the aforementioned EDM artists. In 2016 "Saving Light," her link-up with Gareth Emery & Standerwick, was named Tune of the Year by Armin van Buuren on his popular A State of Trance radio show. In 2022, she decided to branch out as a solo artist and released her first solo album, Heavenly, before returning in 2023 via the dubstep-fortified "Hollow" single with Elephante.
