iLe

iLe is the stage name of Ileana Mercedes Cabra Joglar, a Grammy-winning Puerto Rican singer celebrated for both her solo work as well as her multiple albums with Calle 13. Born on April 28, 1989, in the Hato Rey barrio of San Juan, she began creating original music with her brothers as a teenager. Together, the siblings formed Calle 13 and released a self-titled debut album in 2005, with Ileana originally credited as "PG-13." The eponymous Calle 13 was a critical and commercial success, reaching Number 1 on Billboard's Latin Rhythm Albums chart and Number 6 on Top Latin Albums. The album eventually went platinum, and Calle 13 went on to win Grammy Awards for its next two albums, Residente o Visitante (2007) and Los de AtrĂ¡s Vienen Conmigo (2010). Meanwhile, Ileana began collaborating with various singers as a solo act during the 2010s, while maintaining her membership in Calle 13. By 2015, she had changed her artist name to iLe and begun work on her solo debut album, which arrived in May 2016. Titled iLevitable, the record featured appearances from multiple Puerto Rican artists and won a Grammy Award for "Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album." A second solo effort, Almadura, followed in 2019, with Nacarile appearing in 2022.
