Kavinsky

Kavinsky is the alter ego of French DJ, producer, and actor Vincent Belorgey, born on July 31, 1975, in Seine-Saint-Denis. Heavily influenced by the electro-pop film soundtracks of the '80s, he began making music on an old Apple computer given to him by his friend Quentin Dupieux, aka Mr. Oizo. After leaving his mark on the French electronic music scene with his EPs Teddy Boy (2006), 1986 (2007), and Blazer (2008), Kavinsky finally broke into the mainstream with the track "Nightcall" (2010), included in the soundtrack of Nicolas Winding Refn's 2011 film Drive. Following the release of the EPs ProtoVision and Odd Look in 2013, he made his studio debut later that year with the album OutRun, which went to Number 2 in France. Preceded by the singles "Renegade" with Cautious Clay and "Zenith," his sophomore effort Reborn broke a seven-year recording hiatus and reached Number 13 on the French Albums Chart. The album also featured cameos by Romuald, Sébastien Tellier, Kareen Lomax, Prudence, and Morgan Phalen.
