Keys N Krates

A production powerhouse in their own right, Canadian electronic music group Keys N Krates carefully crafts state-of-the-art trap beats combined with influences from both house music and EDM. Formed in Ontario in 2008 by drummer Adam Tune, keyboardist David Matisse, and DJ Greg “Jr. Flo” Dawson, the trio started off as a live hip-hop act and dropped a couple of self-produced EPs before signing with Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Records for the EP SOLOW in 2013. “Dum Dee Dum,” one of the EP’s standout tracks, reached Number 17 on Billboard’s Billboard's Dance/Electronic Digital Songs chart and went gold in the US two years later. This success catapulted Keys N Krates to international stardom and helped them become big festival mainstays around the world. In 2014, they collaborated with Grandtheft on the track “Keep It 100” and released the EP Every Nite, which prompted a North American tour. More accolades ensued, as their 2015 collaboration with British singer Katy B, “Save Me,” won Dance Recording of the Year at the 2016 Juno Awards. Preceded by the single “U Already Know,” a third Dim Mak EP titled Midnite Mass saw the light in 2016 as they embarked on another promotional tour throughout the US and Canada. Cura, their official studio debut, arrived in 2018 and featured guest spots by Tory Lanez, Ambré Perkins, and Ouici. The band spent most of the year touring the globe in support of the album, after which they returned with A Beat Tape for Your Friends (2019), an 11-track instrumental album heavily influenced by J Dilla’s Donuts.
