Klingande

French DJ Klingande, whose sound strives for big dance beats but with a pleasing melody, was born Cédric Steinmyller on May 14, 1990. He was preparing for a career as a music educator when he discovered that a childhood friend, Edgar Catry, also hand a fondness for the same house artists as he did. They formed the group Klingande in 2012, and their first track, “Punga”, climbed into the lower rungs of the charts in numerous European countries even though it was not released on a major label. Their 2013 follow-up single, “Jubel”, went to number 1 a half-dozen countries, and top ten in an additional half-dozen. After a 2014 remix of the track “Extraordinary” by Clean Bandit, Catry left the group, but Steinmyller kept the name alive with 2015’s “Riva (Restart the Game)”, another top 40 hit in multiple countries. He would average two new singles a year for the next three years, and released his debut LP, The Album, in 2019, on which he collaborated with numerous artists including Bright Sparks who featured on the track “Messiah”, which was issued as a single in 2020.
