Born and raised in Minnesota, Alexis Alijai Lynch, aka Lexii Aliijai, was brought up surrounded by music; her grandfather was Roger Troutman, the founding member of funk band Zapp and her father was also a musician. She began rapping, releasing her first mixtape in 2014 when she was just 16. Collaborating with Rocky Diamonds on EP '3 Days', she also started work on her second mixtape 'Feel Less' which she released later in the year. 'Same Struggle. Different Story', a collaborative mixtape with Shaun Sloan, was released in 2015. She released her first full-length album in 2017 titled 'Growing Pains'. On 1st January 2020, Lexii Aliijai's unexplained death was announced. She was 21 years old.
