Long Distance Calling

German post-rock/metal troupe Long Distance Calling formed in Münster in 2006 and made their presence known the following year with debut album Satellite Bay, featuring guest vocals from the Haunted vocalist Peter Dolving. Comprising members David Jordan, Janosch Rathmer, Florian Füntmann, and Jan Hoffmann, the largely instrumental unit initially came together following a series of jam sessions and began honing their sound across several live performances, including key shows for Rock am Ring and Roadburn festivals, as well as a national tour in 2009. That same year they unleashed their second album Avoid the Light, which was produced by Kurt Ebelhäuser from Blackmail. Their self-titled third album arrived two years later and became the band's first LP to crack the German charts, where it went to number 36. Long Distance Calling carried this success over to their fourth album The Flood Inside (2013), featuring vocalist Martin Fischer. TRIPS arrived in 2016, followed in 2018 by Boundless, both released via Inside Out Music. They maintained their relationship with Inside Out Music for next album How Do We Want to Live? before making the switch to earMUSIC for 2022 full-length offering Eraser.
