Myriam Hernández

Myriam Hernández is a Chilean singer, songwriter, and TV host born on May 2, 1967, in Santiago. Known for her emotive ballads, she's been lovingly dubbed "La Baladista de América" by the Latin audience. Beginning as a child star, she made her first appearances in the shows Generación Joven and La Pandilla, later landing a small role in the soap opera De Cara al Mañana. Her music career took off with her 1988 self-titled debut album and the hit single "El Hombre Que Yo Amo," which peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks in 1989. Produced by Humberto Gatica, her sophomore effort Dos proved even more successful, with the singles "Peligroso Amor" and "Te Pareces Tanto a Él" reaching the top of the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. More number 1 hits followed during the next decade, including "Se Me Fue" from 1993's III, "Ese Hombre" from 1994's IV, and "Huele a Peligro" from 1998's Todo el Amor. The early aughts found Myriam Hernández revamping her sound, adding elements of hip-hop and electronica in 2000's + y más... Her next release, 2007's Enamorándome, went gold in Chile and became her fifth number 1 record on the local charts. It was followed by Seducción (2011), which was nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal Album at the Latin Grammys. Though she didn't win that time, Myriam Hernández was recognized with the Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022, becoming the first female artist from Chile to receive it. Sinergia, her ninth full-length album, arrived later that year.
