Night Terrors of 1927

Short-lived electronic indie-rock duo Night Terrors of 1927 was composed of Jarrod Gorbel (of The Honorary Title fame) and Blake Sennett, who used to play guitar with Jenny Lewis’ Rilo Kiley. The pair met in 2010 but it wasn’t until Gorbel moved to Los Angeles that they started writing songs together. Named after a chapter on one of Gorbel’s great-grandfather’s journals, the project posted a handful of tracks on their streaming channel and made their official debut with the Guilty Pleas EP (2013) via Atlantic Records. A follow-up EP titled Anything to Anyone saw the light in 2014 and included the single “When You Were Mine,” featuring Canadian duo Tegan & Sara. In 2015, they released their debut full-length Everything’s Coming Up Roses, which compiled all of the tracks from their early EPs, including the fan favorite “Dust and Bones.” That same year, they landed a supporting act slot at The Bleacher’s Bleachers Come Alive! US tour. Nothing was heard from Night Terrors of 1927 until 2017 when they announced their dissolution through social media.
