Noa

The Israeli singer and songwriter Achinoam Nini, also known outwith Israel as Noa, was born in Bat Yam near Tel Aviv, but from the age of two was raised in New York and educated in the USA until her return to Israel at the age of 16. After completing her compulsory military service for the Israeli Defence Force, she studied music at Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music in Ramat Hasharon. It was during her time at the school where she met Gil Dor, the acclaimed guitarist who was a co-founder of the school. Dor became Nini's long term partner and musical collaborator and has featured on much of her music with the two artists writing and recording three albums together. Noa's music is influenced by artists such as Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell and James Taylor but is also heavily influenced by her Yemenite roots. As well as being an internationally renowned singer she is also an accomplished guitarist, percussionist and piano player. In 2019, Noa returned with her eleventh studio album, 'Letters to Bach'.
