Our Last Night

Formed in 2004 in Hollis, New Hampshire, the post-hardcore band Our Last Night is known not only for its original material, but also for the band's hard-edged covers of pop, hip-hop, and R&B hits. The band's founding members — Trevor Wentworth, Matthew Wentworth, Tim Valich, Matthew Valich, and Alex "Woody" Woodrow — released their debut EP, 2004's We've Been Holding Back, while still attending high school in New England. A number of lineup changes followed, as well as a contract with Epitaph Records. The band's debut, The Ghosts Among Us, appeared in 2008, featuring metalcore influences, guitar-driven arrangements, and the Wenworth brothers' mix of clean and guttural vocals. 2010's We Will All Evolve and 2012's Age of Ignorance found Our Last Night evolving its sound, prioritizing melodic appeal over the group's metal roots. Released in 2013, A Summer of Covers introduced the band's talent for reinterpreting other artists' material, with the group continuing to release cover songs through the rest of the decade. Meanwhile, Our Last Night continued releasing studio material, too, including 2015's Younger Dreams and 2020's Let Light Overcome the Darkness. In March 2021, Our Last Night broadened its reach by covering "Astronaut in the Ocean," originally recorded by the Australian rapper Masked Wolf.
