Remmy Valenzuela

Born on October 1, 1990, in the state of Sinaloa, Mexican singer-songwriter and accordionist Remmy Valenzuela began playing the guitar and drums at age 12. He joined a band called Los Estudents with other local teenagers and with them began also to sing. While still in school, he also took up the accordion and released the single "Amándote" with some other students. This was picked up by local radio stations and played throughout the region. He entered several competitions and became known throughout Northwestern Mexico for his virtuoso accordion playing and his catchy street-savvy songs. His independently released debut album 15 Corridos de Alto Nivel (2008) was followed by Fondo Profundo in 2011, and in 2012, La Fiesta del Tamarindo. In 2013, Remmy Valenzuela had his first chart hit with the single "Te Olvidare." This was followed by the album Alumno a Maestro (2013), which reached number 1 on Billboard's Mexican Regional Albums chart within two weeks of release. In 2014, he signed with the Fonovisa and issued the single "Te Tocó Perder," which peaked at number 4 on the Mexican Singles Chart. Later that year, his album Mi Vida en Vida rose to the top of Billboard's Mexican Regional Albums Chart. Released in 2015, its follow-up album Mi Princesa featured the popular hit "¿Por Qué Me Ilusionaste?" In 2016, his LP Con Tololoche was re-released. It spent six weeks on the Mexican Albums Chart and reached number 4. In 2017, Remmy Valenzuela returned with the live album 10 Años Para Ti en Vivo and embarked on a national tour. During this time, he was involved in a serious car accident and was also caught in the crossfire of a shoot-out between Mexican Federal agents and a drug cartel. He suffered wounds to his abdomen that required surgery and a period of rest. He returned to music in 2019 with the single "Mentiras," a streaming hit that also cracked the Top 10 of the Mexican Regional and Latin streaming charts. An album titled 80% Mio arrived a few months later. In subsequent years, Remmy Valenzuela continued expanding his catalog with releases such as Mis Corridos y Mis Rancheras (2021), En Vivo Desde el Rancho (2022), and SS23 (2023), recorded in collaboration with Gabito Ballesteros.
