ROSÉ

Roseanne Park, better known by her stage name Rosé, is a Korean-New Zealand singer who rose to fame as a member of the popular South Korean girl group Blackpink. She was born on February 11, 1997, in Auckland, New Zealand to Korean parents. After moving to Melbourne, Australia, Rosé began playing guitar and piano and performed in church choirs. In 2012, she auditioned for the South Korean entertainment company YG Entertainment and was selected to become a trainee. After several years of training, she made her debut as a member of Blackpink on the group's first single album Square One in 2016. The group quickly gained a large following with their catchy pop hits and stylish music videos, reaching the top of South Korea's Circle Chart with both their 2018 EP Square Up and their 2020 studio debut, The Album. Rosé is known for her powerful vocals and stage presence and has become one of the group's most popular members, appearing in the singing competitions King of Masked Singer and Fantastic Duo. In 2021, she made her official solo debut with the single album R, which reached Number 2 in South Korea and received double-platinum certification. This was largely thanks to the popularity of its lead single "On the Ground," whose promotional video surpassed Psy's "Gentleman" as the most-viewed video by a Korean solo artist in 24 hours.
