Born in Austin, Texas, on May 23, 1991, Sarah Jarosz is a Grammy-winning songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with several chart-topping albums on the Billboard Bluegrass chart. While still attending high school in 2009, she released her debut album, Song Up In Her Head, which reached Number 1 on the Top Bluegrass Albums chart and received a Grammy nomination for "Best Country Instrumental Performance" with the track "Mansinneedof." Later that year, Jarosz decided to continue her education and enrolled in the New England Conservatory Of Music, graduating four years later. 2011's Follow Me Down broadened her appeal and reached number 4 on the Americana/Folk Albums chart, while 2013's Build Me Up From Bones earned her another Grammy nomination, this time in the category of "Best Folk Album." The album's title track was also nominated for "Best American Roots Song." In 2016, Jarosz returned to the top of the Top Bluegrass Albums chart with her fourth record, Undercurrent. She also began recording material with I'm with Her, a female supergroup that also featured Aoife O'Donovan and Sara Watkins. The trio received an Americana Music Award in 2018 for "Duo/Group of the Year," and Jarosz received three Grammy Awards in the same number of years, taking home trophies for "Best Folk Album," "Best American Roots Performance," and "Best American Roots Song." Her next solo album, 2020's World on the Ground, won the Grammy Award for "Best Americana Album" in 2021, and she maintained her momentum with releases like 2021's Blue Heron Suite and 2024's Polaroid Lovers.
