September

From the age of 10 Petra Marklund was determined to be a pop star, preparing herself with singing and dancing lessons, and by 18 she had landed a record deal. With a production team behind her and the pop-dance charts in her sights, she became September so named presumably because it is the month in which she was born. In 2003, she scored her first hit in her Swedish homeland with debut single La La La (Never Give Up), followed by We Can Do It, which also charted in the Swedish Top 10 and prompted a self-titled debut album in 2004. This produced a further hit single September All Over. Her biggest Swedish hit to date, the single In Orbit, was taken from her second album Satellites, an album that also produced single Looking For Love, It Doesn't Matter and Cry For You. This last track was to give September international success and become a worldwide hit, with strong airplay across radio stations in both the US and UK in 2008. September released a third studio album Dancing Shoes in 2007 in Sweden before moving permanently to the UK in 2009. And, despite having an album cancelled, she continues to collaborate with other artists, most recently with Schiller.
