Son Little

Son Little is the stage name of Aaron Earl Livingston, a Philadelphia-based singer/songwriter whose career includes solo albums, collaborations, and a unique mix of blues, soul, R&B, and hip-hop. Born in Los Angeles in 1976, Livington moved to Philadelphia during the late-'90s and became friends with the Roots, serving as a guest vocalist on albums like The Tipping Point and Undun. He also collaborated with RJD2, with whom he formed the neo-soul side project Icebird and released an album, The Abandoned Lullaby, in 2011. Livington began recording as Son Little in 2014, kicking off his solo career with the 2014 EP Things I Forgot and earning widespread acclaim for his 2015 full-length debut, Son Little. That same year, he also produced Mavis Staples' Your Good Fortune, earning a Grammy Award for the album's version of Blind Lemon Jefferson's "See That My Grave Is Kept Clean." Another solo record, New Magic, followed in 2017, with Aloha appearing in 2020.
