Stooshe

A soulful girl group with classic harmonies and modern sass, London trio Stooshe take inspiration from the likes of TLC, Sugababes and Destiny's Child and deliver a cheeky, high energy brand of urban pop. Created by manager Jo Perry, who spent 15 months spotting girls in Topshop and offering them auditions, Courtney Rumbold, Alexandra Buggs, and Karis Anderson made the final cut and, after signing with Warner Music, shot to Number 5 in the UK with single Love Me, featuring Gym Class Heroes rapper Travie McCoy. The girls were nominated for the BBC Sound of 2012 poll and follow-up single Black Heart, co-written by All Saints' Shaznay Lewis, spent eight weeks in the Top 10, before debut album London with the Lights On (2013) won praise for its slick R&B sound and bubbly, vibrant dance-pop anthems. The girls went on to support Nicki Minaj and Jennifer Lopez on tour, and then set about trying to conquer the American market.
