Twin Atlantic

The Scottish alternative rock band Twin Atlantic was formed by frontman Sam McTrusty, bassist Ross McNae, and drummer Craig Kneale in 2007. Based in Glasgow, the group its first single, "Audience & Audio," in December 2007, followed by the debut EP A Guidance From Colour in early 2008. A full-length album, Vivarium, arrived in 2009 and marked Twin Atlantic's first time cracking the Scottish Top 40, where the album charted at Number 28. Two years later, the sophomore album Free peaked at Number 4 in Scotland and topped the Rock & Metal Albums chart in the UK, where it later went gold. Free's title track charted at Number 2 on the UK's Rock & Metal Singles chart, as did "Make a Beast of Myself." This success paved the way for 2014's Great Divide, which charted at Number 1 on the Scotland Official Albums chart as well as the UK's Rock & Metal Albums chart. Two singles, "Heart and Soul" and "Brothers and Sisters," became Top 10 hits in Scotland and Number 1 hits on the UK rock chart, and Twin Atlantic topped the UK Rock & Metal Albums chart once again with GLA in 2016. 2020's Power and 2022's Transparency both rose to Number 1 in Scotland, with the latter release marking the band's first album without co-founding member Craig Kneale, who left the lineup in September 2021.
