Vampires Everywhere!

Formed in Los Angeles, California, Vampires Everywhere! is a metalcore band whose sound makes room for goth, emo, and pop textures, as well as horror influences and vampire themes. Frontman Michael Orlando (also known as "Michael Vampire") launched the band in 2009, modeling the group's name after a fictional comic book that appeared in the 1987 horror film The Lost Boys. Lost in the Shadows, the band's debut EP, was released in February 2010, featuring singles like "Immortal Love" and "Undead Heart." A full-length album, Kiss the Sun Goodbye, was released by the heavy metal label Century Media in May 2011. It was the only album to feature drummer David Darko, keyboardist Jay Killa, and bassist Alexander Rogue. It also marked Vampires Everywhere!'s first time reaching the Billboard charts, with Kiss the Sun Goodbye hitting number 19 on the US Hard Rock chart and number 4 on Top Heatseekers. Bassist Philip Kross left the roster in 2012, the same year Vampires Everywhere! released their second album, Hellbound and Heartless. Featuring an industrial metal sound that earned the band comparisons to Marilyn Manson, Hellbound and Heartless charted at number 22 on Billboard's US Hard Rock format and number 9 on Top Heatseekers. In November 2013, the bandmates announced their decision to retire the Vampires Everywhere! name and, instead, move forward under a new moniker, "The Killing Lights." After releasing several singles as The Killing Lights, however, they revamped the Vampires Everywhere! project in early 2015 and released a cover of Hozier's "Take Me To Church" the following year. Ritual, the band's third album, followed several months later. Another hiatus followed, with the group eventually reuniting in 2021. "Witch," their first single in years, was released that summer, followed in 2023 by a cover of "Cry Little Sister," which had previously appeared in The Lost Boys. "Cry Little Sister" spent two weeks on the Top 40 Radio Mainstream Rock Songs chart, peaking at number 34.
