Mumford & Sons got their start in 2007 as part of a burgeoning folk scene in West London, gaining fans for their hybrid of traditional and contemporary sounds. It was their second album “Babel” which rocketed them to stardom, becoming the biggest selling debut of any album in 2012 and winning the Album of the Year Grammy. For their third album, they’ve abandoned their banjos and worked with new producers like Aaron Dessner from the National, and the album seems to be a hymn to New York, with nods to East Village parks and hip Brooklyn neighborhoods. Listen as much as you want to “Wilder Mind” from Mumford & Sons, our Album of the Week.
