Ban Songs & Artists

When you ban a song or an artist, Slacker will not play that song or artist on that station.  That song or artist still could play on other stations.

 

NOTE: If you have not signed in to your Slacker account, you will not be allowed to ban songs or artists.

 

Ban a Song or Artist

The ban feature works for the song you currently are playing or the songs that have been played on the current radio session.  You may ban as many songs as you desire.

 

To ban the currently playing song:

 

1.Click the ban button.
2.A confirmation message is displayed.  Click OK to confirm the ban or Cancel to cancel the ban.

NOTE: If you check the "Don't show again" checkbox on this message, then you automatically will ban a song when you press the ban button.

To ban the currently playing artist:
1.While the song is playing, click the arrow button that is to the right of the ban button.  A menu appears.
2.Select Ban Artist.
To ban a previously played song or artist:

You can ban a song previously played on the current radio station session.

 

1.In the Current Playlist, you'll see a list of all the songs played during this session.
2.Right click on a song.  A contextual options menu is displayed.

 

Un-ban a Song or Artist

If you change your mind about a ban, you can remove the ban using the Edit Station feature.

 

1.Navigate to the station page.
2.Select Edit Station.
3.Click the Edit Ratings tab.
4.Click the ban icon of the song or artist you no longer want banned.  The icon will change from yellow to white.
5.Click Save.
