Fine Tune a Station

Further tune the type of music you want to hear.  Slacker provides up to 4 four settings to influence the music played on a station. You can access this feature whether you are creating or editing a station.

 

You can decide how much recent or classic music you want to play.  Or tell Slacker how much of the music should be popular or not well known.

 

 

Fine Tune The Station

1.Click the Fine Tune tab.
2.Click the desired value for each setting.
3.When you are done making changes, click the Save (or Save As...) button to save the changes.  Or you can click another tab to make other changes to the station.

 

Artist Discovery

Slacker will seek out new artists that are not already part of your custom station. The default setting is Off.

 

Off: will not play new artists.
Some: will play new artists occasionally.
More: will find and play more new artists.
Max: will play new artists regularly.
Popularity (Song)

Slacker will play tracks that are more or less popular (familiar). The default setting is Auto.

 

Auto: Will play a mix of familiar and not so familiar tracks
Fringe: Will play tracks that receive little if any playtime.
Unfamiliar: Will play tracks that are occasionally heard.
Familiar: Plays tracks that are well known.
Hits: Plays the biggest hits from each artist.
Favorites

Plays tracks listed in your "Favorites" more or less. The default is Auto.

 

Auto: Plays both Favorites and other tracks.
Minimum: Plays the fewest Favorites tracks.
More: Plays an average number of your Favorites.
Maximum: Plays many Favorites tracks.
Year

Slacker plays more songs based on the year they were released. The default setting is Auto.

 

Auto: Plays songs from every year available.
Classic: Plays tracks that are pretty old.
Older: Plays tracks from a decade ago or so.
Recent: Plays tracks that have been around for the last few years.
Current: Plays tracks that have been recently released or on the charts.
DJ

Slacker DJs are on this station to enhance your radio experience by providing you with the latest news and information on the artists, albums, and music you’re enjoying on Slacker Radio.

 

On: Play music with a DJ.
Off: Play music without a DJ.
