Review

Justo Betancourt's third Fania recording pairs him with Fania's musical director, Johnny Pacheco, producing an exceptional combination of talents; Pacheco's tipico approach and Betancourt's uncompromising timing and swing suit each other to a tee. "Tu Mal Comportamiento" received ample promotional coverage in 1971. "Matanzas" refers to the singer's hometown in Cuba. "Con los Pies Camino," "Fúgala," "No Te Enojes," and "Soy el Mismo" are nothing short of superior. Furthermore, the singer brings in his rare sensitivity in "Corazón Herido." This is a showstopper for these two salsa giants; nevertheless, it would not be until his 1972 smash, Pa' Bravo Yo, that Betancourt would gain international star status. ~ José A. Estévez, Jr.
