Review

For Speed 2: Cruise Control, director Jan de Bont decided to alter the plot-line of Speed slightly -- instead of setting it on an out-of-control bus, he set it on an out-of-control cruise ship hurtling toward the coast. It's a silly premise, but it opens up the doors for the soundtrack to feature loads of reggae and Latin music, and that's exactly what happens. Although none of the tracks are standouts, the album is a fairly enjoyable collection of pop-reggae Latin-dance from Shaggy, Maxi Priest, Tamia, Rayvon, T.K., Leah Andreone and UB40, who contribute the new song "Tell Me Is It True." ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
