Review

This eight-track budget compilation contains some of Pat Boone's chart singles from 1957 to 1964, including the 1957 chart toppers "Love Letters In The Sand" and April Love," Phil Everly's "Gee, But It's Lonely," which Boone took into the Top 40 in 1958, and the comeback hits "Moody River" (1961) and "Speedy Gonzales" (1962). Among the album's interesting curiosities are "Exodus Song," the 1961 movie theme for which Boone penned the lyrics, and "Beach Girl," a 1964 Beach Boys clone song written and produced by Bruce (Johnston) and Terry (Melcher), who also provide backup vocals. ~ William Ruhlmann
