Review

French Sessions Distance to House, Vol. 5 is a collection of house music that centers around the French techno sound. This sound is usually very disco-influenced, with an emphasis on a natural bass guitar sound and heavily incorporating instruments like horns and synthesizers. There are several really great dance songs to be found here, including DJ Deep's "Back in the Dark," Romatt's "Froggyz Congaz," and Peter Funk's "White Boy." The rest of the album is fairly consistent, keeping up the pace and style without deviating too much. For fans of this particular brand of house, this is a very good compilation that maintains its quality throughout. ~ Bradley Torreano
