Thump's It Came from the '80s, Pt. 2 is a decent, albeit garden variety, compilation of new wave and synth pop. Prior to its release in 2002, the majority of the songs featured were already widely available on numerous like-minded compilations. The inclusion of songs like A Flock of Seagulls' "I Ran," the Knack's "My Sharona," the Romantics' "What I Like About You," and Toni Basil's "Mickey" are wildly redundant. However, slightly less obvious picks -- Berlin's "The Metro," Romeo Void's "Never Say Never," and Lene Lovich's "New Toy" -- are definitely welcome additions. Pt. 2 is a little more focused that the first volume of the series, though the packaging is only slightly less abominable. ~ Andy Kellman
