Review

The Now That's What I Call Music! series turns its attention to pop music of the past with this compilation of '80s hits. Now That's What I Call the 80s plays just like you'd expect a Now collection of '80s songs to, serving up the decade's biggest, most obvious hits from its definitive stars and styles. That's far from a bad thing, though -- aside from Prince's glaring omission, the album packs in a lot of favorite '80s songs, including Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean," Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," and Tears for Fears' "Everybody Wants to Rule the World." Obviously, it's not an in-depth compilation, but Now That's What I Call the 80s is fine for anyone who just wants a sampling of the decade's quintessential tracks. ~ Heather Phares
