Review

True to the hit TV series, Storytellers' 15 tracks present a hodgepodge of famous songs performed by their more famous writers. In general, the artists don't stray too far from the originals, although David Bowie's jazzy take on "China Girl" gets things going on an up note. If you can withstand Jewel's atrocious mockery of her hit single "Who Will Save Your Soul" and the occasional uninspired trance, there is an excellent performance by Counting Crows and plenty of relaxed, MOR pop. ~ Jim Smith, Rovi
