Airbourne

Raised in rural Australia on their uncle's collection of classic rock albums, brothers Joel and Ryan O'Keefe's beer-swilling barrage of head-banging rock & roll thrashed its way into the hearts of metal fans all over the world. A gang of down-to-earth Aussie blokes with a genuine love for what they do, their self-released debut EP Ready To Rock in 2004 won them a five-album deal with Capitol Records and paved the way for support slots with their heroes Motörhead, Motley Crue and The Rolling Stones. Their deal with Capitol turned sour, but the boisterous charge of their 2007 debut album Runnin' Wild won a Metal Hammer Golden God Award for Best Debut Album and Lemmy and The Darkness guitarist Dan Hawkins became high profile fans. Their follow-up album in 2009, No Guts, No Glory, offered more debauched blasts of pub rock, but it is the band's relentless touring schedule and notoriously hard partying live shows that cemented their growing reputation. Their 2013 album Black Dog Barking followed by Breakin' Outta Hell in 2016, with both albums breaking into the top 20 in Australia with the latter reaching number nine in the UK.
