Ali Gatie

Ali Gatie is an Iraqi-Canadian R&B singer who was born in Aden, Yemen on 31 May 1997 and grew up in Mississauga, near Toronto, in Ontario, Canada. After quitting university to pursue his musical dreams, he first garnered attention when he showcased his tracks online and subsequently won an internet talent show, RhymeStars, hosted by rapper Joe Budden. His 2018 singles "Can't Lie" and "Moonlight" landed him a recording contract with Warner Records and he went on to release a clutch of notable other tracks such as "Why" "Only One" and "It's You." His debut EP You arrived in 2019 and climbed to number 32 in Canada, with 2021 follow-up EP, The Idea of Her, making it to number 59. Ali Gatie shared his debut full-length, Who Hurt You? in August 2022, which yielded the singles "Perfect" and "Crying in the Rain." A new single, "Strangers Again," saw the light in 2023.
