Andy Bey

Andy Bey is an American jazz singer and pianist who has a career spanning over five decades. In his late teens, Andy and his sisters Salome and Geraldine joined forces to perform as Andy and the Bey Sisters. The trio enjoyed a long tour of Europe and recorded albums 'Andy and the Bey Sisters' (1961), 'Now! Hear!' (1964) and ''Round Midnight' (1965). After they disbanded, Bey went on to contribute vocals to the album 'Children of Forever' by Stanley Clarke alongside Dee Dee Bridgewater in 1973. He has also collaborated with a number of other musicians including Gary Bartz, Grachan Moncur III and Horace Silver. He had his debut solo release with 'Experience and Judgment' (1974). His other albums include 'Ballads Blues & Bey' (1996), 'Chillin' With Andy Bey' (2003)' and 'The World According to Andy Bey' (2013). His last album, 'Pages from an Imaginary Life', was released in 2014. He was nominated at the Grammys for Best Jazz Vocal Album with 'American Song' (2004).
