Ann Wilson

American vocalist Ann Wilson rose to prominence as the lead singer of the rock band Heart who, despite being from California, found fame and fortune in Canada prior to becoming an established international act. In her role as the band's lead singer Wilson has sold over 35 million records. One of her best known performances is on the track 'Barracuda' which became the lead single from the million-selling album 'Little Queen'. Heart was very much a family affair involving Wilson, her sister Nancy and their respective husbands who were brothers. An argument between Wilson's husband and Nancy's children whilst the band were on tour led to a hiatus on Heart's activities and prompted Wilson to kickstart her own career with the release of her solo album album 'Immortal'. The album is a collection of cover versions of material written by some of Wilson's favourite artists including David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, Amy Winehouse and Tom Petty. According to Wilson, Heart are still an entity and she may tour and record with the band again in the future.
