Ashley Tisdale

Spotted in a US shopping mall and signed up by a talent agent when she was just three-years-old, Ashley Tisdale became a child starlet acting in hundreds of commercials and performing in the musicals Les Miserables and Annie. Minor film and television roles led to the Disney Channel snapping her up for the series The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, before she became a global star as Sharpay Evans in the teen film phenomena High School Musical. Tisdale sang on several songs on the movie's soundtrack, and when What I've Been Looking For and Bop To The Top were released from the album she became the first female artist to debut with two tracks simultaneously on the Billboard 100. Trying to balance her acting commitments with a burgeoning pop career, her debut album Headstrong (2007) shot to Number 5 in the US, but the singles Be Good To Me and He Said She Said made little impression. With rock and electro influences, second album Guilty Pleasure (2009) developed slightly more of an edge as it peaked at Number 12 in the US charts.
