Cassadee Pope

Starting out as lead singer with teen punk-pop band Hey Monday, Florida-born Cassadee Pope toured with Fall Out Boy and performed on the Warped Tour, but when the band fell apart and solo gigs proved thin on the ground, she auditioned for US TV talent show The Voice in 2012. Her sweetly roared, pitch-perfect version of Natalie Imbruglia's hit Torn had all four judges spinning their chairs around and, after choosing Blake Shelton as her mentor, she went on to win the contest and duet with her hero Avril Lavigne in the final. Developing a more heartfelt, country pop sound throughout the show, Pope recorded a fly-on-the-wall documentary for CMT and released singles Over You, Stupid Boy and collaborated with Shelton on Steve McQueen. Full of sultry pop and tearjerking ballads, debut album Frame By Frame (2013) drew comparisons with Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson, breaking into the US Top 10 and topping the county charts.
