Conor Maynard

A teen star billed as Britain's answer to Justin Bieber and Justin Timberlake, Conor Maynard's cheeky personality, catchy, soulful hits and fresh-faced image charmed the pop world. Discovered when he started posting covers of Chris Brown, Taio Cruz and Rihanna songs on YouTube when he was just 15, Grammy Award-winning R&B star Ne-Yo took a particular liking to his version of Beautiful Monster and started to mentor Maynard. He went on to beat Lana Del Ray, Lianne La Havas and King Charles to win MTV's Brand New For 2012 up-and-coming artists competition and signed a deal with Parlophone before debut single Can't Say No shot to Number 2 in the UK charts. Featuring guest appearances from Ne-Yo, Pharrell Williams, Rita Ora and Wiley, Maynard's album Contrast (2012) went straight to Number 1 and was widely praised for its infectious R&B anthems and polished dance floor pop. Further Top 10 hits included Vegas Girl, Turn Around, Animal and R U Crazy, and he finished off 2013 by supporting will.i.am at the O2 Arena in London.
