Cyhra

Heavy metal ‘supergroup’ Cyhra formed in Gothenburg, Sweden in 2017. The group was founded by vocalist Jake E (formerly of Amaranthe) and guitarist Jesper Strömblad (ex-In Flames) and initially featured bassist Peter Iwers (ex-In Flames), Finnish guitarist Euge Valovirta (formerly of Shining), and German drummer Alex Landenburg (formerly of Annihilator and Axxis, and currently of Kamelot), The group released their debut album, Letters to Myself, in 2017. However, a year later, bassist Peter Iwers left the band and, instead of replacing him immediately, guitarist Valovirta took over the bass position on their studio recordings and Mr. ASUS became their touring bassist. The group also brought in guitarist Marcus Sunesson (The Crown / Engel) as a live guitarist in 2018, eventually making him a full-time member in 2020. Their second album, No Halos In Hell (2019) was a critical success and won the Best Album of 2019 award from Japan’s Rock TV. After a four-year wait, Cyhra returned with their third album, The Vertigo Trigger, in 2023.
