Dallas Smith

Dallas Smith is one of the most successful performers in Canadian country music, earning a number of Canadian Country Music Awards and Number 1 singles during a career spanning more than two decades. He was born in Langley, British Columbia, on December 4, 1977. Initially finding fame as the frontman of rock band Default, Smith launched a solo career in country music with his first solo album 'Jumped Right In' in 2012. After Default confirmed its hiatus in 2013, Smith's solo career went from strength to strength, and in 2016 he became the only Canadian country artist to have four consecutive Number 1 singles from the same album (taking over the record previously held by Shania Twain). The album in question, 'Side Effects', unsurprisingly won Album of the Year at the 2017 Canadian Country Music Awards and went gold. Its follow-up, 2020's Timeless, also went gold, becoming Smith's fourth solo album to do so. Timeless also featured four chart-topping singles on Billboard's Canada Country chart, including the platinum-certified "Drop." Three years after its release, Smith released the self-titled album Dallas Smith, which featured the Number 1 single "Hide From a Broken Heart."
