Duane Stephenson

Roots reggae artist Duane Stephenson was born on April 22, 1976, in Kingston, Jamaica. After singing with the vocal group To-Isis for eight years, he launched his solo career in 2005 with the debut single "24 Hours." His first full-length album, From August Town, followed in 2007 and earned critical acclaim not only in Jamaica, but also in America, where the record peaked at Number 7 on Billboard's Reggae Album chart. In 2010, Stephenson released Black Gold and toured internationally with the Wailers Band. Four years later, his album Dangerously Roots: Journey from August Town peaked at Number 4 on Billboard's Top Reggae Albums chart, with Exile to Jedi appearing in 2019.
