Fifth Angel

Fifth Angel is an American heavy metal band, established in Bellevue, Washington in 1983. The original roster included vocalist Ted Pilot, lead guitarist James Byrd, guitarist Ed Archer, drummer Ken Mary, and bassist Kenny Kay, although this lineup underwent numerous changes over the years. Following their formation, Fifth Angel recorded a four-song demo that garnered the attention of Shrapnel Records, leading to the release of their studio debut, the self-titled Fifth Angel, in 1986. The album reached Number 117 on the Billboard 200 and was re-released two years later after the group signed with Epic Records. With Kendall Bechtel and John Macko as the new lead guitarist and drummer respectively, Fifth Angel released their second album, Time Will Tell, in 1989. However, the band disbanded in 1990 due to insufficient label support. The band's resurgence didn't occur until 2009 when a reconfigured lineup of Fifth Angel regrouped to perform shows and produce new music. After additional lineup modifications and touring, Fifth Angel launched their much-anticipated third album, The Third Secret, in 2018. As of 2023, the band's lineup consists of Ed Archer, Ken Mary, John Macko, Jim Dofka, Ethan Brosh, and Steven Carlson. In 2023, Fifth Angel introduced their fourth studio album, When Angels Kill under the label Nuclear Blast, which peaked at Number 50 on the German Top 100 Albums chart.
