Gerardo Coronel

Gerardo Coronel is a Mexican singer-songwriter hailing from Apatzingán, Michoacán. Born in 1996, he began writing his own songs after moving to Culiacán with his family at the age of 12. His songwriting skills were quickly recognized, and he composed the track "El Guerrero," which led to an invitation to join a local band in Sinaloa. However, after two years, he decided to leave the band and focus on his solo career. His journey as a solo artist took a significant turn when his videos caught the attention of Twiins Music. The label signed him and released his digital singles "Te Quiero a Morir" and "No Era Penal." His career reached new heights with the release of his 20-track debut album, Historias de un Coronel (2014). The album soared up the digital charts, propelled by the success of its lead single "Inevitable," which was featured on several radio station playlists in the United States. Over the following years, he continued making waves in the Regional Mexican music scene with albums such as El Jerry (2017), Hombres Como Yo (2018), El Jerry 2019 (2019), El Jerry 2020 (2020), Unas Mías y Otras Prestadas (2020), and El Jerry 2022 (2022). In addition to his discography, he has also penned songs for other artists such as El Komander, Julián Mercado, and El Bebeto. In 2023, a prolific Gerardo Coronel issued the LPs La Ratonera and CHSM El Hígado!, as well as the Top 40 Regional Mexican hit "Al Menos Indicado," recorded in collaboration with the banda ensemble Cuisillos de Arturo Macias.
