Kandi

Kandi Burruss was born in East Point, Georgia in 1976. She is a singer-songwriter and actress famous for being part of '90s girl group Xscape. The group had three albums - 'Hummin' Comin' at 'Cha' (1993), 'Off the Hook' (1995) and 'Traces of My Lipstick' (1998) - before disbanding. Teaming up with former bandmate Tameka Cottle, Kandi went on to pen the track 'No Scrubs' which would become a number one hit for TLC. She also penned 'Bills, Bills, Bills' for Destiny's Child and 'There You Go' for Pink before releasing her debut solo album 'Hey Kandi...' in 2000. The single 'Don't Think I'm Not', taken from the album, helped to boost her into the mainstream, but the album failed to make a significant impact on the charts. After a brief hiatus, Kandi returned to music with the EP 'Fly Above' in 2009. Her second album, 'Kandi Koated', released in 2010.
