Kaytranada

Born Louis Kevin Celestin on 25 August 1992 in Port-au-Prince, the Haitian-Canadian producer and DJ known by the stage name of Kaytranada (stylized as KAYTRANADA, shortened as KAYTRA) has been delighting audiences with his knife-sharp electronic-powered R&B since breaking onto the scene in the early 2010s. As a teenager, having moved to Saint-Hubert, near Montreal shortly after he was born, he was introduced to music through his rapper and producer brother Lou Phelps who helped him find his way around digital audio workstation FL Studio and set him down a production path. His professional career began as Kaytradamus in 2010, during which he notched up several demo projects including 2011's "Brain Suck," before inaugurating the Kaytranada moniker with his first full-length LP, 99.9%, in 2016, which boasted guest spots from Syd, Anderson .Paak, Vic Mensa and others. The album scooped Canada's prestigious Polaris Prize and his fate was sealed. Second album BUBBA arrived in 2019 and widened his international scope, winning the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album while its "10%" single featuring Kali Uchis won Best Dance Recording at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards in 2021 as well as Dance Recording of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2021. Kaytranada teamed up with US rapper Aminé for 2023 collaborative album Kaytraminé. 2023 also saw the release of the Lover/Friend EP with Channel Tres and Rochelle Jordan.
